Echinacea
A native flower of the United States.
It has a beautiful purple flower. It can grow up to 2m or 6ft
in height.
Echinacea has been very well researched all over the world and
is fast becoming one of the most well known herbal remedies
to date.
It has shown to have positive effects
on the immune system as well as having antibacterial and antiviral
properties.
The plant originated from native American
Indians and their use of the herb to reduce fevers. It is excellent
for infections of the ear, nose and throat and also some chest
infections.
It is effective in getting over influenza
and colds due to its immune boosting properties. The herb induces
perspiration therefore helping to alleviate a temperature.
It can also be used to treat minor skin
problems as it cleanses skin and heals it. Thus it can be applied
externally too.
